Weekly Warm-Up: Week of 9/4

Things going on this week at Stoneleigh Elementary School

  • Monday 9/5 – Labor Day, school closed
  • Tuesday 9/6- PTA Meeting @ 6:30 and BTS Night for 3-5 @ 7pm. We will be voting on the budget, so we encourag members to attend.
  • Wednesday 9/7 – School Pictures
  • Friday 9/9 – Long weekend, schools closed for students Monday 9/12

Language and Rec Clubs – Fall 2016

Language Clubs and Towson Recreation Clubs are back at Stoneleigh for Fall 2016. A few notes:

  • Language Clubs are a PTA sponsored event. Registration forms and more information will be posted shortly. For more information, contact Farida Malecki.
  • Language Clubs begin 10/5, with registration opening on 9/19 and must be mailed. Forms postmarked before 9/19 will not be accepted.
  • Before and after school clubs are sponsored and run by the Towson Recreation Council. If you have any questions about them, please contact Krista Collier.
  • Towson Recreation flyers are going home in folders today (9/1). Registration begins 9/2. You may also download the flyer here.

Welcome to the Weekly Warm-Up

We are starting a new feature on the Stoneleigh PTA Website. Every Sunday night we will post a quick round-up of what is happening this week at Stoneleigh. To submit an item for the Weekly Warm-Up, head over to the “Get The Word Out” page and fill out the form. PTA Communications will compile the forms and post as appropriate.

Meanwhile…coming up this week 8/29:

  • Monday – Spirit Days are Monday this year so break out your best SES gear or your Blue and Gold and wear it to school! (Need some new Spirit Wear? It will be at BTS nights.)
  • Tuesday 8/30 – 6:30pm PTA Meeting for parents in grades 1/2. Come meet the new board, join the PTA, and learn about the new online directory.
  • Tuesday  8/30 – 7pm Back to School Night for grades 1/2. Meet your child(ren)’s teachers and hear about the upcoming year.
  • Friday 9/2 – Almost the weekend! Labor Day weekend starts at the end of school.
  • General Reminder – Sign-up to help scoop ice cream for the Ice Cream Social. We always need a hand (or eight).

New PTA Online Directory!

We are almost there parents! Whether you are happy that school is starting or want summer to hang on a few more weeks, the first day of school is August 24th.

Check to see that your family is in our new online directory, and then join the PTA to be granted access. The new directory provides on-the-go access to favorite playdate partners, last-minute pick-up changes, and “oops I forgot my homework” helpers.

If you were in the directory last year, you should have a basic entry. If you are new to the community, you’ll have to add your information.

  • In either case, head to join.myschoolanywhere.com
  • Enter the code SESPTADIRECTORY.
  • You’ll be prompted to either confirm your data, or add your family.
  • Head to the store and purchase your membership for $10 per person (we love it when both parents and extended family join too!).
  • Access is granted on a nightly basis so look for your access email.

There’s an app for that, too!
